Lázbérc Reservoir – Dédestapolcsány

Located in a protected natural area between Dédestapolcsány and Uppony, the Lázbérc Reservoir is a popular destination for hiking and fishing. It is one of the largest reservoirs in Northern Hungary, fed by the Bán and Csermely streams.

The reservoir was originally created to supply water to the industrial towns of the Sajó Valley and to provide drinking water for nearby settlements.

Today, it is a favorite spot for anglers throughout the year. The most common fish species include carp, grass carp, silver carp, bream, asp, pike-perch, and pike.

The area is also ideal for relaxing walks. Families with small children — even with strollers — can comfortably explore the lakeside paths, where several resting areas are available along the way.
